Little Free Library Now Open in Birch Grove Park
Because a community that learns together, explores together, plays together and celebrates each other becomes a neighborhood. We are proud to be the Northfield Neighborhood's Public Library.
The Little Free Library was purchased with a donation to the Northfield Library in memory of June Souder. The Otto Bruyns Public Library is committed to helping maintain this Little Free Library with weekly visits and by sharing donated books. The ribbon cutting was held on Saturday, April 25. Little Free Library is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization whose mission is to promote a sense of community, reading for children, and literacy for adults and libraries around the world. As of January 2015, there are over 25,000 registered Little Free Libraries in all 50 states and over 70 countries. Little Free Libraries themselves are hand-crafted structures that contain constantly changing collections of books donated and shared by people of all ages and backgrounds.
