Adopting a book is a very special way…….

  • to celebrate a birth, anniversary, graduation or other special event
  • to honor an organization or individual
  • to say “Thank You” to someone
  • to give a thoughtful, unique gift to the person who has everything

The Library’s “Adopt-A-Book” program makes it easy. Simply choose a book from any of the new books that the Library receives each week. You may select from fiction, non-fiction, or children’s books. Prices typically vary from $15 to $35. You may also choose to purchase the continuation of a Juvenile fiction series or to sponsor the purchase of a non-fiction series. Please see our collection wish list.

To adopt your book, just donate the library’s actual cost of the book, plus $3.A personalized bookplate will be mounted in your book, which is then placed into circulation – and you can be the very first person to check the book out! A copy of the customized bookplate will also be given to you and to the honoree, along with a receipt acknowledging your donation.

Your “book adoption” will make a unique gift to the community, while expanding the Library’s book collection. As always, contributions to the Library are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

The “Adopt-A-Book Program” is a co-operative project with the Friends of the Northfield Public Library, which created the new bookplates and administers the program.
